The International Organization of Volunteers

The International Organization of Volunteers (IOV) It is a non-profit organization born from the commitment and initiative of young leaders who believe in the power of volunteering as a tool for social transformation. Since early 2018, we have been working to empower the talent, solidarity, and capacity for action of young people around the world, promoting a more equitable, diverse, and sustainable society.

Over the years, we have had the participation of more than 200 volunteers in more than 20 countries, who have contributed to the development of environmental, social and administrative projects with local and global impact.

Through our volunteer programs, we provide people with the opportunity to gain experience, strengthen skills, and make a real impact, according to their availability and interests. We also work in partnership with companies and organizations in Latin America and Europe, connecting talent with projects that generate social and environmental value.

We promote responsible volunteering as an engine of economic, social and environmental development, fostering respect for nature, inclusion and the building of more prosperous and collaborative communities globally.

Our main pillars

Economic development

For IOV, it is essential to work with vulnerable and resource-scarce communities, using tourism to raise awareness and educate young people about the different ways of life and realities that affect us all as a society.
In the same way, the objective is to contribute to the development of different populations, companies and foundations hand in hand with the entities in charge of promoting economic growth and, in turn, encourage prosperity through the development of self-initiated projects that manage to activate immediately, or over time, the economic activities of these populations.

Diversity and Inclusion

One of IOV's main objectives is to promote sociocultural integration, as well as to combat any type of discrimination based on diversity or vulnerability. This includes ethnic, gender, linguistic, religious, or economic reasons.
Furthermore, IOV's principles include recognizing difference as a fundamental value for the development of any type of community or economic sector. For the organization, recognizing and identifying the characteristics or particularities of all human beings guarantees products and services that meet the needs of a 21st-century society.

Environment

For IOV, it is fundamental to connect young people with nature and to ensure that their immersion in it is done appropriately in order to promote the protection, preservation, recovery and respect of natural resources.
To achieve this objective, we intend to involve environmentally conscious people, committed to the preservation of flora and fauna, who have the conviction of not generating large amounts of pollutants, and have good practices that demonstrate their love for nature.
In addition, we seek the support of public entities, companies and/or competent foundations in the area of tourism and the environment that contribute to this objective.
